My great grandfather x 3 was William Steele of Lancaster, PA (born in 1804). His brother's were Ralph B. Steele and George Steele of Hartford, CT. William and George traveled to Georgia (possibly Savannah) and settled in Milledgeville, GA. William became the mayor in 1851, started the Baldwin Blues Militia in 1848, served as the clerk of the superior and inferior court, was private secretary to Gov. Cobb and Herschel before he died of a medical condition in November of 1859. George died with no children in June of 1843. They had a cousin(or Uncle) named John Holmes Steele which was a newspaper man that died in 1871 in Macon. I am trying to figure out if there are any known connections that someone might know about this family. I have no idea who his parents were. Thanks, T
