The Stetson family of Massachusetts is full of Minute Men from the Revolution. Is there some flag that honors this?

That image would be a good one for a sticker for all colonial militias.

Hold that thought, Roy! My current to-do list includes development of a new template (plus an associated sticker) for pre-statehood Massachusetts profiles included in the Massachusetts sub-project of the US History Project. The iconic Minute Man image is one candidate for use on such a sticker, partly because volunteer local militias were important throughout colonial history in Massachusetts.

Your query indicates a desire for a sticker to identify Minute Men (good idea!), which could be confusing if we also use the image on a sticker for colonial Massachusetts. I think we're going to need one or two threads to discuss template/sticker proposals for early Massachusetts AND a sticker for Minute Men under the Military_and_War project. One thing to determine related to the Minute Man sticker is who would qualify -- should it be applied to (1) all colonial militias, or (2) just to participants in the Battles of Lexington and Concord, or (3) to everyone who was in those battles or subsequently "turned out for the Lexingtion Alarm," or (4) something else?

There is a bit of a difference between the "Minute Men" who answered the first (and maybe 2nd alarm) in 1775, and the various Colonial Militias, which were organized around the various towns. The Colonial Militias fought in the French and Indian War, for example.

Some of these Militias predate the Minute Men (see Cornet Robert Stetson - Stetson-2 and the Massachusetts "Troop of Horse"). Several Stetsons rode in the Troop, and still others were not in the militia, but answered the alarm for Lexington and Concord and were called Minutemen.

Many of the Minutemen later joined the militias that fought in the Revolution.

The various Militia organizations don't discriminate between the Minutemen and the Militias, but many Minutemen were not formally in the state militia.
