Urgent bug report - merges

Question

After several complaints about loosing data in merges which I originally attributed to the learning curve for new members I decided to complete a merge myself to see what they are reporting. I attempted to merge Urban-346 and Urban-248. Urban-346 has more detail regarding dates and locations than Urban-248 but the merge page does not allow the selection of Urban-346 data, the radio button highlights but the radio button for -248 remains also selected and no text appears in the corresponding text field.

On that merge, the radio button only appears under Urban-346 when the two profiles have different data. Thus, it doesn't appear for birth date, but it does appear for birth location, death date, and other fields where Urban-346 has data not found in Urban-248.

But the default selection is for the empty profile and the merge process does not allow it to be changed to the other profile. I tried this in the meantime on Pichlin-2 and Pichlin-1 with the same result.

This same problem was brought out yesterday by Elaine Burlew and myself. The suggestions on how to correct the problem did not work.

There is a glitch in the system and has been from the start. It's time "Chris and company" got it fixed!!!

Did you complete these merges? If you find another set of similar ones, send them to me to look at.

I did not complete the merges so that this can be checked. Urban-346 and -248 are still pending, Pichlin-2 and -1 are both my profiles and I cancelled out of the merge. (Pichlin-1 was the result of a hick-up of my computer.)

I am not seeing an issue. There are no radio buttons for those entries where there is no difference between the profiles. There are also none available where neither profile has any information in the field. There are boxes, though, where if you know something that isn't listed, you can manually put it in. I was able to choose information from either profile where the information differed between the two. The biography contained the information from both, and was also editable. Is there something specific in the Urban merge that you wanted to change but could not?

Biography is not the problem. When I try to complete the merge the default is all data fields from Urban-248, Birth Location, Death Date, Death Location, Spouse (11553485) Winspear-42 are all either empty or in the case of Spouse (11553485) Winspear-42 with a partial date and no location. When I select the respective data fields from Urban-346 which contain the data both buttons are now selected and the text boxes remain empty. My understanding was that selecting one data field would deselect the field from the other profile and the data would be displayed in the text box. Am I wrong here?

For me it works in Edge and Firefox but in IE11 I get the same as Helmut.

I didn't notice this when the new page was first released.  I think something's changed since then.
