Just wanted to share this interesting photo of my great grandpa (not certain which one, I think it's Raymond Callahan) showing off his pet squirrel to a little girl. (Maybe a cousin?)
Wonderful Family Treasure ! .. I had the pleasure of raising a squirrel, (injured and adopted from a veterinarian who treated the baby) from its infancy to adult hood. They make good pets, are playful and funny. They also have voracious appetites, front teeth that constantly needed to be in use or they will grow to long and impair its ability to eat, extremely sharp claws and they love to burrow into a pile of paper or towels to sleep in. Usually pet squirrels return to their habitat when they reach adulthood.
The family is enchanting and their life experience ,"squirrelogy" timeless.
C'est Bon Magnifique !
