I'm working on a number of Cape Breton Acadian profiles that are (roughly) in the time bracket 1750 to 1850. I'm really interested in getting them properly categorised in location categories, in particular because I've started some free-space pages for early 1800s (primarily Acadian) communities, e.g.
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:River_Bourgeois%2C_Nova_Scotia and I want to start populating them.
The time period is complicated of course. The territory switched between French and English, and names changed pretty regularly.
For example, I've done the River Bourgeois category nested under Richmond county. But Richmond county didn't exist until 1824, and so I'm guessing that I shouldn't have the free space page (which covers the time of the 1811 census) there. The Acadie category seems too early. Would it make sense to set up parish categories?
Would it make sense to have separate Acadie, Isle Royale, and (Richmond or Cape Breton) Nova Scotia categories, and put people in towns nested under these? I personally would find it useful, but only if it were done in a coordinated, organised way.
