Thank you Paula, I am really happy to be helping Jacky with this Project. I have quite a few heroes in my ancestry, some sadly fallen heroes. IMO every person who was drawn into this war, is a hero, and should be recognised as such.

I hope other members who have heroes in their Ancestry will consider joining the project and help us commemorate the lives of these brave people.
That’s exactly what we aim to do in all the Military and War projects and Jacky’s Great War Project is a favorite or everyone! Thanks again!!

Thank you Wendy, and everyone else working on this. I would like to join. I've been working on a combination of related efforts and this fits in directly. I've been going through the Canadian WWI records for New Brunswick. Originally just looking for those who died, but have added info on any profiles that matched. I've started adding profiles for any I can connect to the tree.

I have added the tag :D

Both of my Great Uncles, [[McGLONE-166 | Robert Duff McGlone]] and [[McGlone-163|Felix Wilson McGlone]] fell at the Battle of Amiens in August, 1918. Robert fought with the Royal Scots and Felix fought with the Canadian Forces. They died within two days and ten miles of each other.

I am currently working on Felix's biography and adding shared information to Robert's as I go.

I have been extensively researching the life & military service of my paternal great-grandfather Thomas Mackey for over 6 years now. He fought in most of the major battles that the ANZACs were involved with on the Western Front during The Great War, and as such, have uncovered a wealth of information about his life, and learned countless new things about The Great War along the way.

I would love to be involved in this project, and fly the great war badge on my profile in honour of him and everyone involved in one of the bloodiest and gruesome wars our race has ever encountered.

I have spent a great deal of time on my g-grandfather's movements during his tour of France, and his profile on WikiTree is starting to come together nicely. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them!

Best Regards, Tim Mackey

Hello Jacqueline and Wendy,

I would like to join The Great War Project, please.

My father-in-law was a recent emigrant from Norway when he enlisted to fight in World War I.  He fought in France, never said anything else... nothing about his war experiences.  Unfortunately he died before I had an interest in asking him questions.

I work intensely in the Puritan Great Migration project, but I would like to devote some of that time to this project also.

Hello!  I would like to join the Great War Project.  I am actively researching the military service of several members of my family, including William Pringle.  I have an active interest in military history, and would enjoy assisting others with their research into this complicated topic.

Hi, I am a military historian and currently working on a local history of WWI servicemembers who died during the war and are immortalized at "Stonehenge".  During my research into one of the individuals I discovered the SPD (Spruce Production Division) which was a division of the Army that took the "undesirables" and had them logging in Oregon/Washington.  They didn't have to go to Basic, and were stationed throughout the PNW.  My goal after I am done with this local research is to get to the archives and get the rosters for all of the squadrons.

I worked for JPAC (Now DPMAA) before opening my own research business.

I would love to be a part of this project! I have added to my tag list and would love a new badge! I have been studying my grand fathers records and learning what I can about the Great War! My Grand Father served from 1915-1918 . George Garnet Ward (Ward-20430) started off in the 117th CEF out of Quebec. Later to be transferred to the 5th CMR.. He had originally joined and left with his cousin William Ward. Unfortunately William and George were later separated into different units. My Grandfather was shot in the chest in the Battle Of Passchendaele.. His cousin William was KIA in Ypres ...

Interested in joining the Great War Project. I have through my research proven that my Great Grand father who was part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force was not an under age soldier for Canada. There was family lore that he joined at age 16 and that his mother lied for him; because he was determined to go. However he was of age and I have his record (ordered it from the archives years ago, before they became free and downloadable on line). I also have his father in law who was also in enlisted after serving originally in Britain before settling in Canada. He enlisted because he had experience and could serve both his new country as it was part of the Commonwealth and his home country. I have some of his records also and two other family members. I would like to see that they are honored for their part in the effort.
