Importing to my own tree

Question

Been searching for family members and came across my great grandmothers tree. I noticed that a lot more family members were listed. I would like to know an easy way to import all of them to my family tree list so I don't have to add each one.

Are you asking about importing records from another source, like Ancestry, into WikiTree? Or trying to add existing WikiTree profiles to your own family tree in WikiTree?

If the profiles already exist, you don't have to add them. You just need join your tree onto the nearest ancestor that's already there.

There is a thing called a gedcom that could be very useful. If you are unsure of what this is here is a link that explains a lot.

I think Darrell may actually be asking about how to deal with existing profiles, so if he decides to use a gedcom import he will have to be careful not to create duplicates.

If the profiles already exist on Wikitree then all you need to do is make the appropriate connections to your branch. Just build out your own part of the tree to the generation before the profile you want to connect and then make the relevant parent/child relationship. It is important that you do not duplicate existing profiles.

yes basically profiles that I find on wikitree. I have found the id, just thought there maybe a quicker way to transfer all of the relatives from that particular tree to mine.  thank you
