Processing a gedcom file takes time, so I would suggest you just deal with one at at time. You have to review each person in the file to see if there is an existing profile. Once you have completed the comparison review then you can begin to add individual profiles. It is very important that you do not create duplicates of profiles that are already on Wikitree. You can read more about the Gedcompare process

Hi Lynda

Where are the add buttons, the only ones I can see are for the files for the gedcoms

I have two gedcoms now completed, Ive found the add buttons, daft question now where (if possible) can I view the trees? Now what happens

Thank you

Go to your watchlist and you should see all of the folks you have just added. Pick one of them and then go to the Family Tree and Tools tab on their profile.
I have only 4 people on my watchlist, which are my immediate family, when I have gone through the other trees will it link up with the watchlist?
Sometimes there can be a delay in the Watchlist update. Can you access one of them from your gedcompare report?
No I don't think so, there are still only 4 people on watchlist, do I have to go through the report and add them manually with the add button?
Yes, you have to process each one using the Add buttons.
Thank you, that's a lot to do
Yes it is, but that is the only way to ensure that Wikitree does not end up with too much duplication and garbage imported from gedcoms.

Personally, I prefer to develop new profiles manually so that I can ensure they follow the Wikitree style. I have tried one small gedcom import just to learn the process so that I understand enough to be able to help people, but I doubt if I will use gedcompare in the future for my own entries.
Thank you Lynda very much for today, I appreciate your help, hopefully I understand it now
