A one place study I had in mind.

Hi.

I've already started a one place study on my grandfather's ancestral town of San Pietro a Maida, Italy. You can see it here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:San_Pietro_a_Maida%2C_Reggio_di_Catanzaro_One_Place_Study

Now I want to do one on my grandmother's family. One small problem. Her family's from Gesualdo, Frigento and Grottaminarda. Those three towns are in very close proximity to each other in Campania. So, here's a question. How do I best go about making that study? Do I put all three towns in one study? Do I separate them?

Any tips would be good. Thanks in advance!

What if you make a One Place Study for Campania, then have a subcategory for each town in Campania?

Hey! That might work! =D Thanks! I'll think about it. I'll have to check to see if there's a Campania category here. I think there is. Michael Maranda pointed me toward the Catanzaro one. There's got to be one for each state in Italy. I would think.

Hi Chris - I recommend you set up all three individually and then cross-reference them to each other - if you wish I can your existing study and the three new studies to the free Italy One-Place Study Register - just let me know if you do - it's 100% free - Martin

Well, I already made a Campania one place study. You can see it here:

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Campania%2C_Italy&public=1
And it's listed on the One Place Studies Member page:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:One_Place_Studies_-_Project_Members
Well, ya got San Pietro there. Just need Campania. =D
Absolutely right.  If you could sign up and inform the OPS Project leadership that you have made a new One Place Study, we can get the ball rolling.  I can't put the Campania one on the list until all the behind-the-scenes process is started with your official answer and URL:

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/422447/would-you-like-to-start-a-one-place-study
I posted. I'm already a member of the project. =D
Fantastic! Thanks :o)
No problem!

That's fine Chris - would you like me to add it to the free Italy One-Place Study Register ?

Sure. Add both of mine.

I will need to add the towns you have listed rather than the whole of Campania given another WikiTree member Patti Duro has already registered Acerra

No problem. And I will add Acerra! The reason why I didn't do individual towns is because those three towns are so close together. They form this sort of triangle around the mountains.

Plus some people were born in one town, married in another and passed away somewhere else in the triangle. Like Born in Grottaminarda, married in Frigento and passed away in Gesualdo.

My wife's family comes from Campania, a small town near Salerno - Olivita Citra. Both of her paternal grandparents were born there ca. 1861. Let me know if you create a Campania category, with sub-cats for villages/towns/cities.

Adding that to the list. I am not sure how I can make subcategories right now.
