It appears that Joseph was one of the nine children of John and Elizabeth Pancoast, based on his statement quoted in her profile. The profile manager has not yet added a profile for Joseph, although I see no reason why he cannot be added.

Why do you ask? Are you a descendant of Joseph, or have some special interest in him? You are welcome to join us here at WikiTree and help the one family tree by added sourced profiles yourself. Come on in; the coffee's hot! (You can tell what I'm doing this morning!)

Thank you for asking the question, anonymous, and for your answer Jim.

I created the profiles for John and Elizabeth Pancoast - their daughter Elizabeth who married Joseph Bacon is my ancestor.

I would welcome anyone creating a profile for Joseph Pancoast and connecting it his parent's profiles. I am caught up in the zone, working from sources I added to my ancestor Quakers in the same area, and busy adding the new Quakers Sticker with Meeting category, making profiles and adding them to parents.

Feel free to add more sources, text, images, etc.

According to Joseph's  letter quoted on his father's profile, he married Thomasin Scattergood, daughter of Thomas Scattergood and Elizabeth (Jarvis) Scattergood.

Thomasin Scattergood does not have a Wikitree profile yet. I have invited Connie Mack, who created her parent's profiles, to join this discussion.

(I'm willing to create profiles for Joseph Pancoast and his wife Thomasin Scattergood and connect them to their parents, filling in what date I have, but want to give any descendants the joy of doing so if they wish.)

It feels like Christmas and I'm enjoying making profiles to give to their descendants -- cousins of mine, because we have a mutual ancestor, John Pancoast.

Thanks for including me, April. Feel free to add anything you want and I'll do the same as I can. I haven't found a birth record yet for Thomasin but see she has been included in a familysearch pedigree resources file, giving birth as 1676 Stepney, London, Middlesex, England. Sometimes all we have to go on is a local history. I found another that shows the Pancoast family still in Moorestown in the late 1800s, along with the Schooley family, another surname in my tree. Anonymous, thanks for bringing this topic up.

Thank you cousin Connie. I love working in the Quaker records.

Anonymous, I appreciate your question regarding the statement made by Joseph son of John Pancoast all the more now that I have worked with the family profiles again.

I found the statement by Joseph on RootsWeb, and posted it to John Pancoast's profile. Now I find that it is unavailable at RootsWeb because their site is down and being revamped, due to security issues.

I looked for Joseph's statement in other sources, and found a reference to it in Annals of the Sinnott, Rogers, Coffin, Corlies, Reeves, Bodine and allied families. Still need to find a better source with entire quote.
