I wanted to share this family photo of Rudolphus Bennett with the community. Location: unknown. Date: unknown.  Can someone ID the medal on the lapel of the gentleman on the left.

Looks like it could be the Utah Indian War medal (1850-1872).  See

So the Indian Wars Medal, or Indian Campaign Medal was issued by the War Department and Utah granted the Utah Indian War medal.

Wonderful Family Treasure ! .. Interesting that the medal shown in this photo is different then the Black Hawk War Medal listed on his profile.

Superb sense of Strong Personal Character evident throughout each generation !

The youngster is probably Allan Burns Olsen, b. 1921.  Definitely 4th generation tough guy.
