I am having a heck of a time getting my <ref> tags to show properly. I've done all the research and have all the sources but for some reason, the sources and bio aren't showing up. What have I done wrong?! It's a lot of <ref> tags and shortcut,<ref> tags. It worked at one point in time as I worked on it for quite awhile but now it's no longer looking like I've done anything because you can't see anything.

I'm not sure but I think you're using <ref inside another <ref. Try closing the first <ref with a </ref> before using a second <ref.

OK Ive done a quick clean up - why they didnt show up was that the first time you quote the source - requires a <ref name="xxx"> and a </ref> at the end   - then after that you can use the <ref name="xxx" /> after that to re quote it again -

So I was missing the end </ref>?
Well Ive been over it again - and again - and for the life of me I cant see the missing </ref>

It all works ok

There must be a symbol or somethng that is upsetting the error detection script but its NOT actually effecting the page when displayed
Very interesting! I went over and over it too and I just had no idea what was wrong with it. I was able to fix some of them but at the end there I would "fix" one and the whole thing went blank again. I gave up and asked here. I appreciate your help!

These has to be a missing tag </ref> somewhere. Try Control F and search ref> NOT <ref> NOR </ref> just ref>, make sure each one has a mate. Sometimes one can't see the forest for the trees  :)

Post a link and I will look at it for you.

First, let me say beautiful job!

I have gone through this profile made some tiny corrections (extra spaces removed, added a space between the <ref> tags, nothing terribly significant). I copied the entire profile to a Word document highlighted each <ref> tag, everything is balanced. I don't understand why it is kicking this error.

If you don't mind, I would like to continue to work on this.

If you look under changes tab, Graeme Olney already fixed it. It will update when the next one is run. If you do a suggestion for that profile the 0 gen is clean.

Lisa, I use the 'Find' function + highlight to check ref pairs.  With the profile open, type Control F, which opens the Find box (sometimes it's on the bottom, somethimes on the top of the profile).  Type '<ref' and click highlight.  All occurrences of the text will be highlighted.  Control G moves the cursor to the next occurrence.
