Does Wiki code include any provision for spacing within a line other than a line of  ?

Cheat sheets I use are at  https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Help:Wiki_markup_examples and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Table#Table_row_12 though not all examples work due to the evolution of wiki markup on this site.

Jim, unless you use a "wiki table" (a table made with wiki codes), the only way to add extra spaces within a line is by using as many of the non-breaking space entities that you mentioned -   - as you wish.

You can use the wiki code for indent, which is to put 1 or more colons (:) as the first character(s) on a line.  That will give you space at the start of the line, before the first character.
