Barron family of Morayshire - where did they originate?

A question for any brothers and sisters out there with hints on Scottish research.  I have run into a steel-reinforced concrete (not just brick) wall with my Barron ancestors from Morayshire.  Got stuck about Barron-3199.  They seem to have been around Dallas for at least several generations but I can't get beyond very late 1700s.  Is there a question in here?  I just asked it I think.  They don't have a Mac.  Were they members of a Clan?  How about, where did they come from?  Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

This interesting name originated from the Old French "baron", "barun" baron, possibly denoting a person of title or rank, but more often was a nickname for a peasant who had ideas above his station. However "baron" in Scotland denoted a member of a class of minor landowners who had a certain degree of jurisdiction over the local populace, and the title was also awarded to certain freemen of the cities of London and York, who were homages to the King and also, of the Cinque Ports who had the feudal service of bearing the canopy over the head of the sovereign on the day of coronation. Finally the surname may come from the Old French personal name "Baro" or else referred to someone who served in a baronial household. One Osbert le Barun was recorded in the Close Rolls in 1274, while the Hundred Rolls of Devonshire list Richard le Baron in 1273. Interesting namebearers include Hugh Barron and his brother William Angustus a landscape painter and held a position in exchequer, 1777. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Gervase Baronn, London Personal Names, which was dated 1250 - 1256, in the Early London Personal Names, during the reign of King Henry 111, known as "The Frenchman", 1216 - 1272. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

Found a James Barron born Moray 1767 who married a Janet Anderson in 1796 they had 3 children Katherine 1796 John 1800 Mary 1803 most are on scottish select records, I have 2 written records Katherines birth and Janets death which both have James Barron on. Could this be who you are looking for
I think you may something there, Alan, that I haven't seen.  And it could be good.  I'm stuck at John born about 1795-1800 and his parents, I am suspecting, are James and Jane/Janet.  And, yes, there are Andersons intertwined with my Barrons for generations so why not one more.  I'm off to be for now.  It's 4:20am where I live.
Thanks, Frank. I hadn't thought of a possible French connection way back.  Been looking for the Mac I guess.  I love studying surnames.  There's so much in most names.  More than my Welsh son of John (Anglicised).
Hi, I recently found a DNA connection with descendants of a William Barron b.circa 1848 in Morayshire. (Married Christina Borland in 1871 in Edinburgh). My Barron YDNA suggests Waterford roots.
William Barron b.June 1846 was the son of William and Mary Ross. In 1851 they were living at Bishopmill, Elgin. William Snr. was listed as a stonebreaker, born Elgin circa 1817.
