Searching for George Newton Crawford Boleman Jr.

I have been searching for information about my great grandfather for years. The information I have is limited. His name was George Newton Crawford Boleman and he was originally from South Carolina. The last records that I was able to find about him was a the marriage record from Oct. 6, 1917 in Tampa, FL, A death record for his and my great grandmother's infant son on July 28, 1918 in Tampa FL,  My grandmother was born on June 12, 1919 in Anderson, SC. My great grandfather disappeared some time after that. There is a 1920 Federal census that is the last official record that I could find. He was listed as head of household in Anderson Ward 1, Anderson, SC. I have been able to track down some living descendants of his siblings, but the information is limited due to the generational gap. All we know is that he worked in either insurance or real estate and that he disappeared while in Tampa, FL. I have been unable to find any official information about him or his disappearance. I contacted the FBI to see if they might have any archived information and hit a dead end. I do not know what else to do. He was born on November 16, 1893, there is no death date or any information if he was declared dead. My great grandmother remarried on Sept. 30, 1924 so I am guessing that he must have been declared dead. It is a mystery that I have been trying to solve off and on for a long time. If anybody has any ideas or can find more information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I found a lot of information on there about him, including his marriage information and the information about the death of his son and the birth of his daughter. I was also able to find census records on ancestry but after 1920 his information went poof. It is like he fell off the face of the earth. I have been beating my head against walls for years trying to find information about his disappearance. Unfortunately anybody who would have known is long gone and the remaining descendants have limited information that was passed down to them.

Susan, welcome to G2G forum.

George had another brother (Webster K) besides Fuhrman and Samuel according to the 1910 Census:

I hope the record above helps you in your search.

There is a Veterans Administration index card that lists a year of death as 1923. I have found no other information. I di find family members in South Carolina but unfortunately they don't have a lot of information. They have heard about his being missing but had no other details. Unfortunately anyone that may have had more information have passed away.
