I have a marriage for John Giles and Phoebe Sanders who married 19th July 1787 in Bromley, Kent, England [[Giles-3678|John Giles]]

Could some have a look at the image on Ancestry or somewhere for me please as I am hoping it will tell me how old they were and parents names

There isn't usually an age on registers from this date. From 1754 to 1837,they look like these http://www.archivecdbooks.org/resources/registers/7marpre1837.htm

Free Reg includes the names of the witnesses and usually notes anything extra that the clerk has added.

Marriage date        19 Jul 1787

Groom forename        John

Groom surname        GILES

Bride forename        Phoebe

Bride surname        SANDERS

Witness1 forename        Elizabeth

Witness1 surname        MASCOE

Witness2 forename        John

Witness2 surname        PIPPER

There are two burials that may very well be them. The only other Phoebe is Phoebe and John's daughter baptised in 1788.

There is an earlier John, buried  in October 1789 with no age give but this may well be a John, s of William and Mary Giles baptised in July.  Another John son of John and Phoebe was baptised in September 1790.

Burial date        13 May 1821

Burial person forename        Phoebe

Burial person surname        GILES

Person age        60

Burial person abode        Bromley

Transcribed by        Carrie Van Kessel

File line number        531

(so born c, 1867)

Register entry number        502

Burial date        13 Dec 1840

Burial person forename        John

Burial person surname        GILES

Person age        78

Burial person abode        Bromley

Transcribed by        Carrie Van Kessel

File line number        502

So born c.1761

Based on your post Helen of burials and hoping that is them which it looks very likely I should hopefully find their birth dates or at least something on them to go back further :)

Information on the record you found on familysearch says that there are images available which you can view at an LDS family history centre.

I shall have another at that not sure how that works to be honest
It means that if there is an LDS family history centre near you then you can go along and view the images there. The are open to all genealogists, not just those who are LDS members.
thank you Lynda

A marriage from 1787 in an Anglican church will not give ages or names of parents unless one of the parties was a minor (i.e. under the age of 21 and needed parental consent..even them the majority of cases would just record the person as a minor "marrying with consent of parent(s)". What you will get from a marriage register entry from that date is whether the parties were bachelor/spinster/widow/widower, whether they were "of the parish" or of another parish (not the same as being born there - just their place of residence at the time of marriage) and usually a minimum of two witnesses who may have been related, but often just the parish clerk.

The only way to get additional details is if the couple married by licence rather than by banns. The marriage licence allegation & bonds may give an age ( but usually stated "upwards of x years") and occasionally gives father's names.
