How do I correct the tree where I have gone wrong?

Question

Andrew Turvey......for the first time since I started my quest to find our ancestors I feel that someone cares that I climb up the right branch of the tree!

My late husbands grandfather left Essex to work in Indonesia where he married the Dutch Govenor Louis von Stenis's daughter (Rosalie van Stenis). They returned to London and in1947 came to South Africa and settled in Cape Town with their 2 sons - both sons were born in Indonesia and registered as British Citizens at the Consulate. I have the original documents.

i am not sure what you are asking.

For posting data on WikiTree:

If you have the wrong parents for a child, disconnect the child from the couple. Then connect him/her to the right couple, if known. Add documentation.

Do a similar thing for a marriage. If a person married more than once, and a child is connected to the wrong parent, disconnect and re-connect to the right one.

For research:

Review your documentation. Go back to where you know the research is correct, then re-start your research. Critically review your documentation. If the documentation is open to interpretation, make sure your conclusions are consistent with the facts you have. Document your reasoning.

You could begin by adding sources to the various profiles involved. You say you have the original documents,which is great, and gets you off to a good start. If  you could make your own images of them, then they could be uploaded as sources, as long as they are non-copyright and importantly, do not refer to any living person, unless they have given their permission..

Otherwise, a transcription of the sources, stating where they came from, or where they could be found now, is better than nothing.

If you click "edit", on the top right hand corner you can remove a parent if they are incorrect. Don't worry about making mistakes - I've made plenty and they're easy to fix on wikitree!
