How do you add a biography (obituary) of a person already on this site?

First you could adopt it, as the profile has no manager right now.

You could technically add it to the biography section of the profile without adopting it because it is an open profile. If you have a link to where the obituary is located you could say a few words about what is in the obituary and then cite it as a source.

If you have a copy of the actual obituary, you could add it as an image to the profile. Then refer to it in the biography.

I am new here too but here is what I have done:

It is an open profile, so you can just use edit and add it to sources.

If it is a profile that is claimed/manage by someone even if I have the ability to edit, I link the new information in the comments on that profile.

It appears if you comment new information the "owners" are notified and you don't need to send an additional PM.

Thomas Farrar died on 16 Sep 1751 in Goochland Co., VA.  He married Elizabeth.  He was the last Farrar owner of Farrar's Island.

His will:

"In the name of Amen I Thomas Farrar of the Parish of St. James's Northam, in the County of Goochland being of perfect and sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this to be my Last will and Testament, in manner and form asfolloweth, first I commend my soul to god and commit my body to the Earth to be Decently buried at the Descretion of my Executorix and Executors hereafter Named, and as to my worldly Estate, I give and bequeath as followeth..

Impd. I give and bequeath unto my eldest son William Farrar five Shillings currt. money, to him his heirs and Assigns for ever.

Item. I lend to my loving wife Elizabeth Farrar, Durring her widowhood or Natural Life, all my whole Estate, Real and personal be it of what kind so ever besides the Intaild part of my Estate, and the Lequiste heretofore named and gave away, After my Just Debts and funeral charges are paid, and I do Desire that im Loving wife Should Die or marryes before my younest child should come to Lawfull Age, there may be no Division of my Estate before the youngest child do obtain to Lawfull Age.

Item. I give and bequeath all my pesonal Estate be it of what kind soever, to be Equally Divided after the Death or widowhood of my Loving wife, or at my youngest child coming to Lawfull Age, amongst all my children that I have by my last wife, to them their heirs and assigns for ever.

Item. I give and bequeath to my four sons that I have by my Last wife all my whole Devident of Land to be Equally Divided amongst them, at the Division of my personal Estate to them their heirs and Assigns forever.

Lastly, I do Appoint my Loving wife Elizabeth Farrar and my two Sons William Farrar and Joseph Farrar, y whole and sold Executrix and Executors, of this my Last will and Testament therefore Revoking all former wills by me made Declaring this and only this to be my Last will and Testament, in Testimony of which I have here unto sett my hand and Affixt my seal this Seventeenth day of April Anna Dom. One thousand seven hundred and Sixty.
