How do I disconnect from a parent's tree that is private but full of errors?

Added John Yoder as father of Michael (Yoder-947) before realized it was private and that the tree was full of mistakes.  It should NOT be private, as John died in 1867, but the profile says 1860s.

With private profiles the exact dates are hidden. Once they are open you will be able to check for correctness.
I should have said that it is not the profile of the parent that has the mistakes (just less specific info).  It is several early Amish profiles further back on the tree that are falsehoods.  I'd rather not be connected to that until they are corrected.  I won't make any duplicates.

The profile manager of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Yoder-54 seems to be fairly active. It might pay to contact her.

If that doesn't work, there is an Open Profile Request link way down in the contact section of the Tree&Tools page for Yoder-54

I see that you are working on a line of your direct ancestors, the other PM is a cousin of the line, so you might be able to collaborate on some straightening out of the mistakes that you see.

Disconnecting will just leave you with a hole in your branches as you should not create a duplicate profile to fill the gap. It would be better to try to resolve the errors by collaborating with the profile manager and providing good source evidence for your suggested changes.
