Gerald,

You might try contacting Sam Lyons on Find a Grave. I don't know if he's on WikiTree or not. Sam and I are descended from a Lyons family in Georgia Lynes-62/Lyons-4164. I don't know if the two families are closely related, but it may be worth a shot.

Hope this helps!

Rebecca,

Thank you for the reply and forgive my ignorance but how do you contact someone on find a grave.  It won’t even let me create a login

Gerald,

I haven't figured it all out yet, either. I find other contributors on Find a Grave through the comments they leave on my page, the flowers they leave on memorials, and the pictures they post of memorials. So I have to remember which profiles a given contributor is likely to have left a flower or a picture on. Here's the URL for Sam's page: https://www.findagrave.com/user/profile/47852164 . There's an email address and a button you can click to send him a message (at least, that's what I see from my account). There is a Help button at the bottom of the page on Find a Grave, I don't know if that will be helpful regarding your registration difficulties.

Hope this helps!

Hi there, I realize this is a year late, but I just wondered across this site.  Anyway, my name is Taylor Gephart and I am direct descendant of Elijah Lyon(s) married to Susan.  Although I am a female, their daughter Cassandra is my 5th great grandmother- buried not far from me in Snyder cemetery in Pennsylvania. I have been tracking down my Lyon(s) family for the past few years now- I have traced them down way back to (I believe) Janet Douglas.  I have contacted the "Tay Valley Family History Society- Dundee" and they were interested in my heritage.  Although they could not clarify my findings because I am a descendant of a William, author and researcher of "The Lyon Family History", Michael Hewitt, has evidence that claims my findings to be correct. "www.thelyonfamily.org.uk"  I would love to hear back from you about all of this! If you were looking strictly male descendants, I do have one great uncle who is still living-  Elijah would be his 4 great grandfather.

Taylor,

Sorry for the long delay and Thank you for replying but I took a break from Genealogy for a while waiting on some DNA tests.  I would be greatly interested in the information that you received from Michael Hewitt.  I have contacted him the past and he inferred that my family line was not part of his research.

Thank you

Gerald Lyons
