I have one. John Miller Srodes. His profile is Srodes-7.  He was a captain and served under Zachary Taylor.  He later served under Grant during the Civil War. There is a Wikipedia page about him.

I have one person who served in the Mexican American War.  His name was Daniel Montague  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Montague-516  which was written by Eric Daly, but he put my name on it as this fellow was instrumental in Cooke County, Texas history

I have this sticker

You would need to change the sticker info to info obtained from your own sources.

 Mexican-American War | enlisted = 1846 | discharged = 1848 | branch = Texas Volunteers | units= Third Regiment of Texas Mounted Volunteers |unit=Regiment of Texas Mounted Volunteers (6 months) (Frontier Defense)| image =

Be sure to place these {{ at the beginning and   these

}} at the end of the sticker template.

I hope this helps you, Mark Fitzgerald

My granddaughters have an ancestor that was in the Mexican-America war. I have done a family tree on my daughter’s husband’s tree to get my grandchildren interested in genealogy. He is John S. Story, who served in the beginning in 1846. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Story-1444. He was made Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Missouri Mounted Volunteers.

I see the Battle of San Jacinto War in 1836 and Indian Wars.

Have you found other sources for Mexican American War which was 1846-1848?
Thank you Mary for keeping me straight on this. I know there is another ancestor, as I remember a California connection with him and the Mexican American War. Now I need to figure out which family. I will edit this again. I teach history to GED students, and I appreciate your help.
Mary, I found Colonel John Story, but I still know there is another one with a California connection Thanks for keeping me straight.
I added the sticker for you to  Col John Story, Alexis.

this is his link  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Story-1444
Thank you Mary, one of his decedents is often at my house.
