Has it been considered to have the same editing tools

for editing on the space pages as on this g2g page? I am working on the Mining Disaster project for England. It would be great if I could have access to the £ symbol when working on the pages. Some of the other tools such as strike through and text color would make editing much easier. Thank you for considering this.

Hello Lynn.

Enter £ to produce £. (The symbol is viewable after clicking on the "PREVIEW" button).

Also £ works.

For the symbol, use Emoji (Currency symbols)

Since WIkiTree is based on Wiki mark-up (aka Wikitext), I believe we would lose tons of common functionality by switching to an editor like the CKEditor used here in G2G.

Wiki mark-up is fairly extensive, and while it may not be as easy to select a button and choose a symbol,
the symbols and functions are still available for use.

For example:

 • you could use £ to produce the £ symbol;

 • <s>strike out text</s> to produce strike out text;

 • {{blue|Text}} to produce Text

Thank you...I tried the three you shared. Two worked for me - strike through and colored text. Could not get pound symbol to happen.
Are you using a computer? Don't you have the character map on it? That is how I get that symbol and many others. They are copy/paste.
Sorry about that Lynn, it should have been £ instead of $pound;, answer updated.
