Merging profiles with matching surnames and maiden names.

Hello, I have been asked to merge two profiles for a woman born in 1680. One profile lists her married surname as Roy and her middle name (not maiden name) as Joseph. The other lists her surname as Joseph but no middle name. What makes it more complicated is that her spouse has a first name of Joseph and Surname as Roy.  I may just 'match' them rather than merge them until further source material can help. But I am also keen to hear from other managers as to what they'd do. Thanks.

The profiles are:

Roy-129 and Joseph-2089

This is what happens when people put Joseph Roy and Mrs Joseph Roy in their tree.

Merge them both into Ann Unknown.
And somebody please show me someone with a middle name in 1680.
G'day Christopher,

I found the file but I couldn't help notice that there are no real sources.  Do you have any?  How did you verify the marriage, because if you do this you will get the correct names.

Regards.
Thank you everyone for your help. I inherited a long ancestral chain which included the profile of 'Ann', and as such it had no sources listed. This is why I wasn't sure which way to go with the merge.

Hey Christopher, I found you did a good job on the profile and the acknowledgement is a good thing. I wanted to help you by finding some  sources however when I looked at the son's profile  to glean more information I noted the "Book of Bull." Was this a joke or not, so I tried to find the book.  I never found one that suited our needs, can you provide any more information.  Usually when someone uses a book they provide the publishing details and the page number.
