Identification of birth father.

I have a very complicated situation which I've been unable to resolve for years. I'm trying to identify the birth father of my great-grandfather, Daniel Brandon Saul.  Family stories indicate that his birth father was a married man with the surname of "Brandon."  There is no record of his first name. My great-grandfather was given the name Daniel Brandon at birth. He was later adopted by Daniel I Saul, so his name was changed to Daniel Brandon Saul. I have recently discovered that I have a DNA match to a man named Dave Wilson who has an ancestor in his tree named Sylvester J. Brandon. I've been trying to find information that would indicate that Sylvester J. Brandon (or possibly one of his children) could have been the birth father of my great-grandfather. I have no idea how to trace this. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you set up a profile for Sylvester J. Brandson, it would be a lot easier to help you aggregate sources and think through everything. :)
