Profile of C.W. Green - Green-26219
C.W.'s Aunt Martha wrote biographies on all of her family before she died in 1912. In particular, she wrote only briefly about the children of her sister Mary. Mary married Jacob Dupler in 1852 in Ohio. He was the father of her four children. They presumably divorced about 1860 and each remarried. This is quoted from Martha, "She was the mother or four children. Her son - C. W. Green - died in Stromsburg, Nebraska; Mrs. Charles Galiway of Columbus died in that city: Alice died in infancy; and Rhuhama B. Leach - the only living child." Note the absence of the Dupler surname of the father.
We can find sources for Mary Green, Jacob Dupler, Mrs. Charles Galiway (Margaret or Maggie) and Rhuhama B. Leach. We can find nothing for C.W. Green. Mary and Jacob were married in 1852, C.W. is presumably the oldest, born about 1853. The 1900 census for Mary says she had four children with only one living, so C.W. died before 1900. We have searched Polk county exhaustively and have not found any evidence that C.W. was ever there, only his uncle Thomas Green.
On his profile we have presented a theory that C.W. Green may be the same person as Charles W. (possibly Walker) Green 1853-1897 who died in Nemaha county, Nebraska, where two uncles and a cousin lived. We cannot find any sources for Charles before his marriage in 1875 in Macon county, Illinois.
