I believe that she was named after her mother, which would be Marie Pace, at birth of course.

Do you have an idea when and where born ? Or married name ?
As best as I can remember, there are only two choices, Okinawa, Japan and Honolulu. I don't think he had the child before the war. He retired from the military straight to Hawaii. I don't think he ever came home except maybe for a visit.
I think my cousin, Marie Pace was born about 1947.

Something that recent won't be online in ancestry or familysearch.

The library in Honolulu is your best option.

It can check Honolulu directories and newspaper files. There was a book called Polk Directory published in each city, listing who lived there by name or street.

Thank you for best answer, Eddie!
You learn something new everyday. I didn't know that uncle Quincy Pace was a marine engineer. Also, I always assumed that he was in the regular Army. I inquired with National Records Administration for his military service records. They informed me that it may take a week or two before I have a response. It may take longer than that with the government shutdown.
