Should John Rankin be tagged as a notable?

John Rankin was an abolitionist and one of the first and most active conductors for the Underground Railroad in Ohio. It's estimated that his family assisted 2,000 people to freedom.

His home place is near the area where I grew up, so he's a local legend. So, I have quite a bit of interest in his line. I haven't yet been able to connect it to my own.

His profile needs quite a bit of fleshing out, which I'm going to start working on. A cousin that I met through WikiTree connected me with a mutual cousin that happens to be a docent at Rankin House. I plan to consult with him to help flesh it out.

He is definitely a notable, but I would like to see some sources on the profile too. The ancestry "source" does not lead to anything but the ancestry site. I would have had to say the profile is unsourced had it not been for the wikipedia link.

Yeah, I thought the same thing and almost didn't catch the Wikipedia source. I started a tree on Ancestry today for him to pool my sources, before beginning plugging them in. Also, researching the children, as there were 13 natural children and one child (born into slavery) that they adopted and raised.

There's a LOT to flesh out -- plus create a free space page for The Rankin House.

I was quite surprised when I went looking for his profile and it didn't have much info.
