Question

Identified in 1850 census of Rhea County ,Tennessee. Wife Dorcus, children Charles, Joseph, and Samuel. Charles is 2nd great grandfather. Several Isaac Campbell’s , Carter County , TN, Blount County, TN, Warren County, TN, and Mecklenburg County, NC. Trying to determine which Isaac is connected to myself

Thanks for the info. Trying to figure out which Isaac is mine, Isaac A., Isaac S. Or plain ole Isaac? I am aware of different Isaac’s all over East Tennessee, but don’t know how to differentiate between the three or four?

If you knew what unit he was with during the Civil War, that might narrow it down. 

Also, a marriage record with Dorcus, or a baptism record with the children could help as well. 

Rhea County, TN records might have what you want to sort this out.

Thanks for your reply. As you can see I am a WikiTree Rookie. Learning myself around. I can not find marriage record for Isaac and Dorcus nor can I find baptism records for children. I have also been unsuccessful in Rhea County records. Ancestry family trees are no help. I do not know what unit in Civil War either. He would have been an old man during the Civil War, but I guess that is possible. Any suggestions appreciated.
