How come I'm not seeing any DNA Ancestors or anyone at all matching the DNA test(s) I uploaded?

Hi Michelle!  Welcome to the one world WikiTree!

Your autosomal DNA test will be displayed on the ancestors listed here:

https://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Walls-1641/10

As you add to your WikiTree twig, you will see other surnames added to the list and your auDNA test will display on each appropriate ancestor profile. (The DNA tests are added to each new profile each evening when the indexing program is run on the WikiTree database.)

I'm wondering about the same. You think there's a step we are missing?

Hi Kenneth!  I am glad you have joined our one world family tree!

Here is a list of your autosomal DNA test ancestors:

https://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Willingham-574/10

As you add ancestors to the WikiTree, the list will grow and your auDNA test will display on each appropriate profile.

Actually WikiTree doesn't compare your DNA like GEDmatch or your testing company.  WikiTree just lets you see who among all your relatives out to 6 degrees in any direction (I think it is 6 degrees) have had their DNA tested, and it also tells all your relatives out to 6 degrees that you have had your DNA tested.  Then you can compare with each other.

I think if you get back a few more generations in your own line, you will start to find cousins who have had their DNA tested.

Do you know if you've been able to connect your branch to the rest of the tree yet?

Cheers

I have found that I am able to connect with other DNA tested Wikitree users by uploading my dna file to GEDmatch.com, a website that compares your DNA to others and finds matches.  In one of the columns there is a link that says "wiki" for some users who have wikitree. Otherwise, it's just email addresses, or manual search.
yes! I get excited when i see the Wiki link on my GEDmatch one-to-many match list!

Correcting my previous comment, actually WikiTree shows possible DNA matches up to 8 degrees of separation.  In addition to the great widget that Kitty shared, showing all the surnames on your tree, there is this useful report which you can get for any profile on WikiTree who has had a family member tested within those 8 degrees of separation.  Yours currently looks like this:

https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:DNATests&u=19245830&id=1

The description is:

"Here are family members that have been connected for Michelle Walls's autosomal DNA test. This includes all blood relatives within eight degrees of separation — up to sixth great-grandparents and out to third cousins.

Click ancestor ancestors and descendant icons descendants by individuals' names in the list below to see their trees. Click a Relationship Finder icon Find Relationship to see their relationship to Michelle."

You get that list by looking at the DNA section on any profile where it says: DNA Tested
Michelle Walls's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. Help It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Michelle or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Michelle:

followed by a list of names.  For each names there is a hyperlink 'test details'.  When you click on that link, you can see all the relatives of that person within the 8 degrees of separation.

Your list is short, because your twig is still growing.  Because i have been gradually growing my tree here for about a year and also many of my ancestors were here already, my list has over 400 names on it.  The most useful part is that i had never before heard of many of those people and lots of them are still living (yellow button), so DNA work can happen.

I think that is similar to what you were looking for when you originally asked your question.  If you can grow your twig just a few more generations, then we can all help you more.  Your parents profiles are private so i can't see dates or locations, so i can't help you grow your twig.  But if you get into a timeframe where you can have public profiles on your ancestors, you may find that they already connect up to the big tree or someone can help you get a few more generations back.

Best regards

Shirlea

Michelle,  At this point you have only added your parents.  Your DNA testing information is showing on their profiles.  Without adding your grandparents and other generations back there are no other profiles for Wiki to populate at this time.
