I need no help, here, isabella was called after her Mother, and that last name is incorrect. Please fix it . She is a McDonald.    Thank you.  This site is good to read, the errors.

I found her family in the 1930 US Census, and as in the 1921 Canadian Census already linked in her profile, Doris's surname was recorded as Madden.

We should consider adding a disputed surname note to her profile.  Census takers often made mistakes, especially with step children.  Also, back then kids used to just "assume" a surname.  My first husband was born Harold Harrell, which was his mother's surname.  When he went to school, he was registered as Harold Chestnut, his father's surname.  There was no legal change of name done.  And that is in the 1960s.

I suspect the OP is a descendant and that is how they know and why they are insistent on the change.
