I have a document I discovered in a family bible from 6/15/1939.

I discovered a document from a get-acquainted dinner for Decendants of George Abbot of Andover, Mass living in Nebraska from June 15, 1939.  This was for a dinner honoring Dr. Charles G. Abbot, Secretary, Smithsonian Institution; Washington, D.C. I found this document in the bible I inherited from my Great-Grandmother Bessie (Abbott) Fisk. It has a family tree on the inside of the document indicating this is George Abbott, B. 1625; To America, 1640; To Andover, 1643. Would this be of assistance in tracing George Abbotts in the PGM?  I am very new in working with WikiTree and still learning.  I have a profile.  I also have a DNA test which I am willing to download if it will help.

What a treasure to have!
Family Bibles are a true treasure. We have quite a few of them in my family, held on to like solid gold by the lucky cousins who inherited them. I would like to get the notations all copied online somehow, but it is difficult since the older Bibles (with entries from the late 1700's! and maybe even earlier) are in fragile condition, not easy to read or copy, and of course guarded very, very protectively. Lots of patience, lots of coaxing, and improving technology is needed.

Linda,

I believe you are talking about this George Abbott:  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Abbott-102

The Puritan Great Migration project is a PM for the profile.

Hello Linda, How fun, open your bible and discover you've been on a treasure hunt. For Wikitree: What I would suggest is scan the family tree as a photo and upload it to the profile linked above. On the upload image page there is a box for comments. Identify exactly where the tree came from (Dinner program from ... date etc.) . I'm sure it's not sourced and so would need other verification, but I think it has other memorabilia value. Once it's on one profile, it's easy to add it to other profiles that might be mentioned on the document, by just adding wikitree IDs to the image page.
