Any more details available Andrew? Dates would be useful, as a quick search on Family search showed up numerous entries under that name from Cumberland.

In 1761, the township of Cockermouth, New Hampshire, was granted to 64 Proprietors -- according to the Hebron Bicentennial Committee's "History of Hebron, New Hampshire", printed in 1976.  The town was renamed "Hebron" after the American Revolution, but the Cockermouth River still flows.  I've stood by the riverbank where my ancestor built his cabin.

I believe the township was named after a British nobleman.
