MY GREAT GRAND MOTHER'S NAME IS EVA "LEBRUN" HELMICK. NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT HER SIDE OF THE FAMILY, NOT EVEN MY GRANDFATHER. I HAVE NO IDEA IF SHE HAS SIBLINGS, HER MOTHER AND FATHERS NAMES, OR WHERE EXACTLY SHE GREW UP. SHE WAS BORN AROUND 1896 AND DIED IN THE LATE 70'S I BELIEVE. SHE WOULD LEAVE HOME(INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA) AND GO TO ILLINOIS FOR A FEW DAYS AND VISIT RELATIVES? MAYBE? WE HAVE A STRONG FEELING THAT SHE WAS ADPOTED OR RAISED IN A CATHOLIC GIRLS HOME? BUT THAT IS JUST SOME IDEAS THAT OUR FAMILY PUT TOGETHER. WHEN SHE DIED MY FAMILY FOUND AN OLD NUNNERY OUFIT IN HER BELONGINGS. SHE MARRIED PERCY B HELMICK IN COOK CO ILLINOIS AND HAD 3 BOYS. FRANCIS, DONALD, AND WALTER. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME OUT IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANKS :)

JAMIE

Hi I am also a Lebrun, I have been doing our family tree, The Lebrun's in the state of Illinois seem to be kin to Jean Baptiste Lebrun, state of Louisiana, Natchitoches Indian. Don't know if this will help but they have a website on Facebook, Natchitoches. hope it helps you.
Hi guys,

Something you may want to check into.  One of my lines, that of course I haven't added yet, is the Carrier line.  Before they decided to become Carriers, they were LeBruns. Before that they were Bremms or Bruns which means brown shirt. Some went to Louisiana. Most stayed in Quebec, and some went to Maine. The 1st Lebrun I have is Joseph Lebrun dit Carrier.

(04 Aug 1712-24 Dec 1749)

I haven't worked on that line much, I've been working on Vaillancourt, But I'll get there.

They also spelled their name Carriere.

Good Luck!  Kim

I have a good line of LeBrun/Langevin's in my family tree. From my 4x great grandfather back. I don't have your Eva in my info but a search on FamilySearch.com found her marriage info and the 1920 census.

Her full name was Eva Lily Lebrun on the birth record for her son Donald:

Ancestry.com. Indiana, U.S., Birth Certificates, 1907-1944 [database on-line]. Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2016.

She married Percy Helmick in Chicago on 6 March 1918.

Ancestry.com. Cook County, Illinois, U.S., Marriages Index, 1871-1920 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2011.

I think her mother was Louise Delude of Kankakee, Illinois. Eva is living with Louise and Louise's family in 1900 under the name Delude/Dilude. Louise married Gaspard (Joseph) Lebrun in 1901; I don't know if he was Eva's father or not. But that seems to be where the name Lebrun came from.
Louise's parents were Eli Delude and Marie Soucie.

Ancestry.com. Illinois, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1800-1940 [database on-line]. Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2016.
