Did Cornelius "Connie" Killeen O'Brien serve in the AEF?

A family story was just shared with me and I was surprised by it - that this ancestor served in the AEF.    I hadn't run into any military records for him other than WWI draft record.   Reportedly he also went by the name Jim.  His given name is Cornelius and more often he went by Connie.   I no longer subscribe to Ancestry and don't have access to Fold3.  is there another good source for WWI service?

Cornelius filed WW2 draft card,he was 53 years old.He died Nov 12 1958

Buried Mount Calvary Cemetary.I would think he was too old.And

if in military,He had preference be buried in Military cemetary.I am skeptical.

If you want contact U.S. Army for his records. He was using Cornelius

AEF is the American Expeditionary Force, WWI He would be about 27 or so when the US became involved.    I am skeptical as well, but for different reasons.   His WWI draft card indicates employment as a marine welder.  I'd think that sort of work would be important on the home front in support of the war efforts.
