I believe the error of combining two different John Tyler males into one composite person happened because an eager researcher saw recrods indicating a man named John Tyler in church records of St. Paul's Parish of the Church of England. The problem is both men were recorded with increases in their family during the same relative timeframe of 1690-1720, but in two different St. Paul's Parishes - one in Hanover County, Virginia and the other in Chowan, North Carolina.
The DNA results for the descendants of Absalom Tyler show great similarity the the Tyler clan from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
