Question

I am trying to merge Jost-216 into Just-38 and I keep going around in circles -- there is a date problem and I click on "merge anyway" but it doesn't happen.  The same thing happened yesterday when I tried to merge Just-38 into Jost-216. What to do?

which is correct, Just or Jost? All the sources are on Jost, but your question says you're trying to merge Jost into Just. (I don't think that's the problem, because neither is PPP, but before I try to do the merge, I'd like to know for sure which way it should go!)

Personally, I don't think there's a right answer for her LNAB. With both Just and Jost the father's name is given as Jost so it seems to me that's what it should be, but we all know they didn't much care how they spelled their names back in those days.

Anna can't merge until her parents are, and the mother she is linked to, was not born for more than a hundred years after her, so some research needs to be done before merging.  Also, don't see good sources to determine the correct LNAB spelling - more research.

Just-38's mother needs to be detached.  She's clearly not the right person, just some sort of accident.  Typo maybe.

Best to merge the fathers first though, otherwise one just gets left dangling with no indication of who he's supposed to be.
