I am looking for relatives of James (DOB 1919/20) and Isabella Turnbull Thomson (nee Scott, DOB 1918/19). Married in Chard Somerset UK 6 july 1940. Resided in Glasgow 1945. James father was James Thomson. Isabella's father was Adam Scott, Adam's wife may have been a Turnbull?. Our family may be related to Isabella.

I am interested to know more information on James and Isabella Scott Thomson as I may be related to them as they are registered on my fathers birth certificate as being his parents.
yes we will be very keen to share more information. We have a marriage certificate. How can we contact you? Would Isabella or James still be alive?

Regards Perry
Do you know if they had any other siblings and would love to know more information about them ?
Hello again, Yes there is a possiblity of a sibling but I need to know whether your granparents are the correct Isabella and James Thomson. Do you know what unit James Thomson served in WW2? Was your granmothers maidann name isabella Turnbull Scott? We have found a number of isabella and james Thomson's in our search and as yet have not found the correct couple. Do you have a marriage and/ or birth certificate? Perhaps and Army service number to help confirm?

Kind regards

perry

Yes there is another sibling, born Dec 1944 Scotland. has your grandmother ever mentioned this to you. Can we have a copy of your fathers birth certificate to match. We could be cousins?? but further confirmation is required

perry
Hi perry

it does sound like a match do you know if they are alive. My father was put into a children's home in 1945 and I am intrigued to know if his father died around that time!!! Is the other sibling alive ?
Hi Again, yes the other sibling is still alive and  living in Australia. We are unaware of isabella and james Thomson having a child before 1944. It is possibly of course, since they were married in 1940. I am still unsure whether we are talking about the same thomson's without further confirmation. We needs more names etc How can we send you copies of our documentation. Do you have a gmail account?

regards

Perry

Hi perry my dads name was george Scott Thomson will email you tomorrow wi my ema address so that we can exchange records

Kind regards Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your reply.

I hope we can prove a match here. Your father George may have a sister called Isabel (68yrs old) who currently resides on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. She was born on the 22 Dec 1944, Glasgow. Isabella Turnbull Thomson (nee Scott) was living at 24 Ronald St Townshead with a Ms McQueen at that time. Her husband was away at the time serving in Eurpoe during WW2. Unfortunately, the surburb Townshead does not exist today. He was still alive in 1945.

Isabel's story I will share with you once we get your email address as we do not want to present personal information or details on this public website, as I am sure you understand.

I look so much to sharing more information with you once we have your email. The marriage certificate we have is numbered MX738588,. How many James and isabella thomsons were married on the 6 July 1940 in Chard Somerset England? Thus, according to your information we must be talking about the same people, this is very exciting! for us. We have not mentioned this to isabel as yet as we want to confirm all the about with your documentation.

Do you live in England?. Current time 1pm Sunday here in Brisbane, Australia.
