I am new and want to make sure I am doing this correctly.

Hi!  My name is Rachel (Hatcher) Luther.  I have been hearing about Wikitree and decided to join.  Started entering my family and found some hits on my husband's grandfather that goes back several generations.  The direct line all had "no profile manager" and I adopted some of them.  I went back to the first ancestor that was born in America (as far back as I have myself), and started editing the profile.

Before I get too deep into editing and sourcing, I want to do know if I am doing this correctly.  Too much?  Not enough?  Missing something that I should be doing?  I was a hobbyist for a long time, not doing much more than name and bmd collecting, but got serious not too long ago.  Trying to restart and re-go-over all of what I had collected and get good at this!

Anyway the three profiles I've worked on already are Henry Luther (Luther-177), Nancy Harmon (Harmon-5037), and David Harmon Luther (Luther-166).  I'd love to hear from someone just to know that I'm doing this right.

Enjoying my time looking around!

Your stuff looks great to me! I would just change 1 thing; for married women the maiden name appears in the name field. I would show you but I think you can figure it out ok.

You're doing great! You have an interesting style and you're doing great with sourcing and writing a lot. You write more than I do, that's for certain. The big thing on WikiTree is that you have sources and that people can follow the progression of how you got information about each profile; i.e., why are you giving their parents as who they are, why did you say they were born/died when/where they did, et cetera. Keep at it, and don't get discouraged if you aren't able to find all the sources in one go; WikiTree is great in that you can save what sources you have and continue later!

Welcome to WikiTree. One of the most important things that you have done, is ask your question on here. This is what this forum is all about.

None of us are experts, and we all make mistakes. This is where we all come to ask for help, and where you will find that help.(And a whole lot more)

As for those profiles. They look good to me. Everyone has their own style, the main thing is that the information is correct, and sourced.
