looking at the photo of him and Peg, it is South Africa - can tell by the shape of the house in the background so assume they married in S Africa

no record of his birth in S Africa but Fam Search has seven listed for his DOB in England

I did not see a photo of him on the profile - However the branch of Reynolds that resided in North Carolina did go to America to establish tobacco farming like they did in Reynolda North Carolina.  They also engaged in looking for oil being drilled on their African soil.  I know this because my G Uncle was the one in charge of drilling the oil wells for them.

It could be this John Reynolds is related to the Robert J Reynolds, tobacco king of North Carolina.

At least you could look into this connection  it MAY help.

I'm looking for any source on Reynolds as gggrandmother was Martha Reynolds, daughter of Isaac (Aug 1793 near Columbia, Richland, SC-05 Jan 1873, Reynold’s Cem, Ironton, Cherokee Co TX) and Jane George. Was Isaac one of these Reynolds?
