Why is a half-sister shown as a "sister"?

+2 votes
I have a Uriah Morgan (Morgan 3979), son of Zacquil Morgan (Morgan 2627) and Drusilla Springer, shown as the brother of Nancy Morgan(Morgan 2626), daughter of the same Zacquil and his first wife, Nancy Paxton (Paxton-123).  Obviously they are half-siblings, not full brother-sister.

How can I get this to show correctly?

Thank you.

You may make a statement to that purpose in the Biography.

Even if Nancy was a half sister to Uriah, they would still  be classified as being siblings even though they had different mothers. They shared the same father.

Personally, I think that is misleading.  In my opinion, when two siblings have only one parent in common, they should be referred to as "half-sister/brother."
That is probably true, if you use the family view  though you will see the parents and children in the correct groups, and the biggest feature of wikitee the biography narrative is the place to show and describle all the nuances of the family attached to each profile.
People are not always going to read the biography.  It would be a relatively simple matter (I think) to change the program so that it would automatically show them as half-siblings.

I would guess then that the question should be answered by a tech then as our answers don't seem to satisfy you.
I agree, Mary!

Does that also apply to half-siblings who share the same mother but have a different name from the father?
yes, I would believe so.
I completely agree. I wish they would show as half-sister or half-brother, as they are simply not full brothers and sisters.
I completely agree with Patricia and Kristy concerning showing children as half brother or half sister.  I don't want to think of the Biography explanation (which most people will not read) of one my ancestors having children from each of his four wives and three of them brought children into the marriage.
