Domineco Greco was the son of an Italian farmer in Calabria. He arrived in North America in 1896, landing in New York, and proceeding to British Columbia in Canada. He spent 4 years there working construction on the Canadian Pacific Railway.
He arrived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in June 1900. Accompanying him were his brother, ******************* Alex(Alessandro??)********, Carmen Talarico and 14 others. Only a small group of Italians preceeded these 16 men. In the Sault, he was in charge of a construction gang for the A.C.R. (Algoma Central Railway?) for 15 years. Following this he spent 11 years working for the local paper mill as a foreman. He was the first Italian employed by the Sault Ste. Marie Pulp Company, later known as the Lake Superior Paper Company.

Rachelle Covello was a mail order bride for Domineco who landed here on June 26, 1903 And married at St. Ignatius Church on June 29, 1903. She was an only child of an ailing mother and a deceased father.

Domineco lived with his daughter, Anne, for the last few years of his life, as did his wife who died in Anne's home. Just before he was due to be operated on to remove his leg he died in the General hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

Domenico was Vincenzo "Jim" Nardi's uncle, son of Carolina Greco.
After Vicenzo came to the Soo, he opened the Steelton Shoe Store.
