How was Emily Holmes related to Oliver Wendell Holmes? She was supposed to be my Great Great Great Grandmother.

You might want to try our Relationship Finder and see if that can help you figure it out.

You might also want to  send a private message to the profile manager Michael Spencer,using the "Send Private Message" link that's next to his name on the profile.

Your post here is to the public G2G forum, where Michael might not notice it, making it less likely to get a response. A private message would be sent through WikiTree directly to his email making him much more likely to see it and perhaps respond.

You may be interested in the brief note on Oliver Wendell Holmes "descendants" posted by Greg Scott on the Holmes Family Genealogy Forum.  Basically, there are no direct, living descendants of OIiver Wendell Holmes.  You may be related to Oliver Holmes by way of one of his siblings.

Emily Holmes was related to the Spencer family through her grandmother Oris Cone who was descended from the daughters of Gerard Spencer of Haddam, Connecticut.
