There are many branches of Beesons. Which ones in particular are you asking about? A time, place, and names of ancestors will make it much easier to help you. Also, do you mean Indian as in the Asian subcontinent, or as in Native American?

Those listed as "freedmen" are not Native American, but descendants of freed slaves allowed on the rolls by treaty after the Civil War.

Those listed on the Dawes Report are not necessarily native Americans even if list as native by birth, I don't know what they used to verify claims, I would guess not much. And if you were "adopted into tribe" you were considered native by blood, this is true of some of the Beeson/Beeson families that moved from back east to Oklahoma and lived with the indians, some of their descendants might have Indian blood but not the ones that came from back east. My DNA test which links me to others in the Beeson/Beason line showed no native American blood, even though family traditions on both sides said there was native Americans in our line.
