Hi, Des's wife!

If you go to the profile your husband created for you and click the edit tab you will see a box to enter an email address. It is just beneath the 'Gender" field. Once that's done, you will be sent an invitation to join WikiTree and will become the manager of your own profile once you do. Then you can begin adding your own family to our shared tree.

In WikiTree the philosophy is there is only one tree, thus there are no separate trees for a person and their spouse.

I suppose you could enter your data, and not connect yourself with your spouse. If there are no other connections between you and your spouse, then you would have a separate tree.

If you are keeping data with a genealogy program on your computer, you could create one file for your family, and another one for your spouse’s family. Since they are not connected, you have separate trees.

However, with the ability of genealogy software to handle large data files, there is no need to do this.

I see that Des has created a profile for you - assuming that you are the wife of Des.

Your husband should be able to invite you to join WikiTree, so that you can build and manage your tree.

I'm not quite sure how this works when there is already a profile, but you need an email address of your own in order to be a WikiTree member.
