Can You Find This Missing Link to Daniel Boone?

Calling all Daniel Boone fans!

Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Boone Hogancamp (1800-1863) is my 3rd great-grandmother. She may be a relative of Daniel Boone. How is she related? Is Stephen Boone her father? I heard tales at my grandfather's knee and read one account that she was a great-niece of DB, but there are no clear links.

Thank you for your help!

The family of Daniel Boone came from Pennsylvania. His father was from England. No branch of this family ever lived in Vermont.
Thank you for this definitive information, Eddie!

I am related to Daniel Boone. Mary is also my great grandmother who is Daniel's great niece. I heard the same stories. I am finding out by looking into every details. I have the family tree that reached way far behind.

I agree with Eddie.  Mick makes a point that is correct, but in this case Eddie means that none of Daniel Boone's descendants lived in Vermont and therefore none were born there.  If you can find "The Boone Family" by Hazel Atterbury Spraker, there is no Stephen named as a descendant of George Boone.  She identifies a Stephen Boone in NC as one Boone found in 1790 NC census and is NOT related to the family. I would therefore state that your Stephen is not related to Daniel Boone.  My copy of the book is a 1922 edition, there are other editions in 1974 & 1982.  You can purchase an ebook of one of these for $30 on Goggle Books.  You should also search for the Boone Society web page and email them.  I found them to be very responsive in my case.  My mother is a Boone, and cousins had her family as descendants.  She is not.

              Good luck, Mike

You're looking for Polly Finley, daughter of John Finley. Trust me, it's true.

I too am a descendant of Mary Polly Boone Hogancamp. In one of the documents I found on Ancestry, it was written in the late 1800's, that she was the 2nd great niece of Daniel Boone. I'm dying to know what you find because I have been trying to find the connection too!

              Some how related,
