Transfer Ancestry DNA to 23andme to get 4 free reports

You can transfer your Ancestry DNA to 23andme today only for DNA day.

You get 4 free reports, and it looks like ancestry composition and DNA matches is one of them.

https://www.23andme.com/discover23/

Edit: looks like it doesn't include matches, just a summary of your matches.

It is good marketing ploy, and will show if ones relatively close family there. Did it for  adopter. I already have act there & like it very much.
Looks like we managed to crash their servers, tried 3 times and get same error message! Anyone else get this also?

Looks as though it gives ethnicity and 3 health reports, but no match list. Maybe 23andme are just hoping to get more research data without giving anything useful in return.

"DNA Family" might be the match list.

Discover your genetic connection to the world and get to know 23andMe customers who share your DNA using DNA Family.

OK. I just had another look. I was expecting to see a report called DNA Relatives, so assumed the match list was not being offered, but if you open Ancestry Composition the subreport is named DNA Family there. Confusing.
There is also some debate going on in facebook groups as to whether it is just US.

Ooh, I do hope that lots of Ancestry customers will sign up, so I can compare more people with my 23andMe matches who aren't on Gedmatch.

On 23andMe, "reports" are completely separate from the DNA Relatives "tool" and the Share and Compare "tool" for DNA comparisons. I read the 23andMe message as indicating that people who upload data will be able to use DNA Relatives and Share and Compare (the online tools for exploring relationships), and they get 4 reports as a bonus.

That page that Jamie found is where they explain that 23andMe customers aren't required to participate in the DNA Relatives tool, but they will get a one-time DNA Relatives report even if they choose not to use the tool.

It seems to have concluded on various facebook groups that the upload will not give you a match list, but will give number of matches.
I'm afraid they aren't providing access to the comparison tools. Here's a more detailed page from 23andMe: https://customercare.23andme.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003152494
Debbie, Thanks for the best answer star.
Thanks, Ellen. That clears things up a bit.  =D

Submitted one test. Is there a way I can submit another one?

Make a new account. By the way, if you use gmail, you can make aliases that 23andme will think are different emails.

For example,

myname@gmail.com

myname+DNAFred@gmail.com

both go to your one gmail account but 23andme regard them as different email logins.
Crafty! I like your line of thinking! And I still got time! =D

Edit: And done! Thank you!
