Lt. James Madison Giles is my GG grandfather (verified); but, there is conflicting data as to the parents.  Some say Thomas Tabb Giles never left Virginia?

So, it looks like the Thomas Tabb Roberts is not the son of William Branch Giles.

Thomas Tabb Giles, the son of Governor Giles, never left Virginia, was never a farmer in Monroe County, TN and never married.  He was a lawyer and an novice architect who designed several houses in Virginia.    I am not a descendant of the governor either, and I can't understand why people invent family trees that don't exist.  The answer is, No.  Lt. James Madison Giles was not a son of Thomas Tabb Giles.   Everything I have said here is verifiable.  Just contact the Library of Virginia or any reputable agency and they will confirm it.
