Sorry to say he wasn't a man.  This George W. Miller who died January 1, 1851 and is buried in Poughkeepsie was 2 years old when he died.  Son of Henry j. Miller and Sophia Miller.  Back to a brick wall.

Thank you Frank Gill. You have him in your list. It's George Miller who died April 30, 1891 in Owen Sound Ontario. First wife Margaret Farriage ,1804-1835, second wife Amelia Grant Munro 1815 -1880. Moved from Poughkepsie to Cooksville, Ontario 1829-1831.  Became Methodist 1841. Carriage maker. Seven children from the two wives.  Do you know the names of his American parents?   P. Miller.  Hoping.

The list I posted was found at familysearch.org and based on what you had included in your question. Can you say what year he married Margaret Farriage and what was the location of the marriage? Also, would you have the year he married Amelia Grant Munro and in what country, province or state, county or city?

My gg grandmother, Sarah Ann Sutherland was born in Poughkepsie, NY in 1797. Her parents moved to Ontario near Lake Simcoe where she had 9 sons and 6 daughters. She's buried in Orillia at St. John's Cemetery next to her husband.

George Miller married Margaret Farriage Oct. 25, 1832 in Cooksville, Ontario (near Toronto). She died in the spring of 1835 and he married Amelia Grant Munro Dec 9,1835 In Cooksville.  George didn't move to Owen Sound until the 1850s. His children were John, William, Robert Boyd, Sophia Ann, James C., Sarah Margaret and Maria, first two with Margaret Farriage.  So you're looking at Poughkeepsie too.

Yes,this is my George Miller, buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound.  I will keep trying to learn more about the other George W. Miller buried in Poughkeepsie in 1851 to learn if he is my George's father. George W. could be one of the 130 children buried there or the father of born 1809 George.  The headstone, if it isn't too worn, hasn't been photographed yet, so there's no birth date.  It's a Dutch church cemetery. The census for George said he was Scottish but my father's cousin Cora Miller told me he was Dutch. You've given me a lead to track and I am very grateful.
