I'm trying to post my pre 1700 ancestors...CAN YOU POSSIBLY MAKE IT ANY MORE CONFUSING!!!!  What do I need to do?  Or do I just not post them?

You have been certified for pre-1700 genealogy work. You should just be able to go ahead and add your pre-1700 ancestors. If you get a message regarding joining a project, just ignore it. This is a suggestion not a requirement.

That banner says "required". Maybe it needs changing?

And please don't forget to check to see if your pre-1700 ancestors are already on our tree. Think of our tree as a triangle, the higher up it you go, the more likely you will be sharing the profile with other descendants. The mantra: one person= one profile.

Thanks, cuz!

I’m a bit concerned someone with a notional pre-1700 badge is describing this site with “you have” rather than we. And whining instead of making suggestions for improvement. It’s especially concerning to be asking inexplicable questions, like, should I post them or not. Huh?

Yes. You should. If you know what you’re doing and take the time to do it right. If you can’t be bothered, then no, please don’t make a mess. Because pre-1700, someone else will surely do it (or has already) without the freakout, or a pool noodle. This isn’t that hard. Clunky, yeah, sure.
