There is an abundance of Bertholds, Bezzelins, Birchtilos in the 10th and early 11th century in Alemannia/Suebia. These people played an important role in the history of the Staufer emperors, as progenitors of the Habsburgs, the Zähringers, and Baden. And never-the-less their history and relations have been so muddled that there are still ongoing debates as to who descends from whom, and to nobody's surprise all the different theories have found their way into duplicates and possibly triplicates into WikiTree.
Berthold I "Bezzelin" Graf im Breisgau ended up with three sons, Berthold II of Habsburg (Habsburg-22), Berthold von Breisgau (Von_Breisgau-2) and Berthold von Thurgau (Von_Thurgau-4). He did in all likelihood have a son Berthold II, also called Birchtilo who may or may not have been the progenitor of House Zähringen. Another Berthold/Bezzelin/Bertilo, son of Lancelin, possibly son of Landolt, son of Guntram der Reiche, most likely progenitor of the Habsburgs, is another candidate for the ancestry of House Zähringen.
Looks like the von Habsburg one above should be the son of Lancelin and the von Breisgau one should be Birchtilo, and von Thurgau should be merged into one of those.
